NARAL Pro-Choice Nevada Statement on Reports that Rep. Kihuen is Considering Running for Re-Election

Following reports from The Nevada Independent that Nevada Congressman Ruben Kihuen is considering running for re-election after announcing in December 2017 that he will resign amid serious sexual harassment allegations, NARAL Pro-Choice Nevada State Director Caroline Mello Roberson issued the following statement:

“In case we weren’t clear enough the first time, we will reiterate our message to Rep. Ruben Kihuen: no means NO.”

In December of 2017, allegations of serious sexual misconduct against Congressman Ruben Kihuen were reported by multiple outlets. Following those reports, NARAL Pro-Choice Nevada issued a statement on December 2, 2017 calling on him to resign from his Congressional seat. On Dec. 16, 2017, Rep. Kihuen announced that we would not be seeking reelection.
